This painting was inspired by memories of early mornings growing up in NYC. Kitchen window open, I could hear the city waking up, still somewhat quiet but you could hear kids going to school, street sweepers, light traffic etc. My mother always had coffee going in a little steel percolator just like this one. It smelled so good to me and sometimes she would let me have a little sip. :)
